Chandler: Jesus wants the rose

Matt Chandler spoke at the Desiring God pastors conference on "Preaching the gospel to your unregenerate sheep". Chandler is a pastor in the Dallas area, and in the "Bible Belt" churches are filled with unsaved people who have been vaccinated with the gospel and seemingly do not have ears to hear. Probably not much different anywhere else.

Chandler is a guy a respect deeply. He is an evangelist at heart and he cares for the truth of the gospel. Before becoming a pastor, he struggled with the local church describing it as "an enemy of conversion" at times.

Here is a 3 minute blurb from his proclamation at the conference:

Wow! I see why you liked his sermon, I went and read the whole thing after watching the video and can say, that any person in Church long enough, not just pastors, has been exposed to these things.
My prayer is for you and your dad and whoever preaches, does not shy away from proclaiming the gospel of Christ. I remember as a young adult a friend being asked to take his hat off in service and we he refused an argument ensued and he left. He has never returned, his hat being more important to him then church rules and his hat being more important to the church then his soul.
I cringe at the way Church is done at times and in many places. May the Holy Spirit keep you focused on reaching the lost and proclaiming the gospel while at the same time helping others grow in their understanding.
I could keep writing!
I pray that all of our hearts are more purely like this and cling to the gospel as the fullfilment of the law, rather then get caught up in how we look etc.
May Gods grace and love consume us all and become contagious!

The Mission

2 Tim 4:1-4
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
